2. What We Collect
Local Usage Data (on your device only)
StayOff tracks the time you spend in apps by detecting which app is in the foreground. This data is stored entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers. No internet connection is required for StayOff’s core functionality.
Crash Reports and Analytics
To improve app stability and performance, we use Google Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics. These services may collect anonymized data such as:
Device type and OS version
App version and features used
Error logs when crashes occur
General usage metrics (e.g. feature engagement)
This data does not contain any personal information, app content, screen activity, or identifiable behavior.
Ad Data (AdMob)
StayOff displays ads using Google AdMob. AdMob may collect certain device identifiers (such as advertising ID) to deliver relevant ads. You can opt out of ad personalization in your Google Account settings.
3. Permissions We Request
StayOff requires the following Android permissions to function:
Usage Access – To track which app is being used and for how long
Display Over Other Apps – To show the floating live tracker and block overlays
Battery Optimization Exemption (optional) – To ensure blocking and timers work in the background
No sensitive permissions (like contacts, messages, microphone, location, or storage access) are requested.
4. What We Don’t Collect
We do not collect or store names, emails, passwords, or payment details.
We do not share or sell any personal information.
We do not track your browsing, content inside apps, or specific user behaviors.
5. Children’s Privacy
StayOff is intended for general use. If used by children under 16, a parent or guardian must grant permission for use and oversee device settings. StayOff does not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
6. Your Rights and Choices
You can revoke permissions at any time via Android settings, though this may affect functionality.
You can disable ad personalization through your Google Account.
You can uninstall the app at any time, which deletes all locally stored usage data.
7. Third Parties We Use
We use trusted third-party services strictly for the following:
Google Firebase Crashlytics & Analytics – To detect and fix crashes, and understand general usage
Google AdMob – To display ads
These providers comply with global privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) and maintain secure data handling practices.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or app store listing. Continued use of the app after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
